As Matron, it is my responsibility to ensure that there are appropriate systems and processes in place across the NCRF to ensure the continuity of safe and effective care at all times.
Within the remit of my role, I must ensure that environmental standards and cleanliness are maintained in line with local and national standards and that there are systems in place to monitor this.
Providing visible clinical leadership to all staff across the NCRF and wider Directorate of Clinical Research at The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a fundamental part of my role.
I facilitate this by working as part of the multi-disciplinary NCRF senior leadership team to prioritise safe staffing and the highest standard of care provision for research participants who attend our facility.
