I am currently an Assistant Clinical Trials Assistant for the Newcastle Clinical Research Facility (NCRF) in the Faculty of Medical Sciences. My role sits within the Professional Services team and is held within the Translational and Clinical Institute.
I support the activities of the Clinical Research Facility (CRF) and the Clinical Ageing Research Unit (CARU), working to assist and support the Clinical Trial Coordinators in trial set-up. I manage the document tracking system to ensure a robust brought forward system is in place to enable projects to be processed in a timely manner. My role also involves liaising with project sponsors and funders to assist with the resolution of queries.
I ensure trial set up files are in accordance with International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH) for Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Research Governance. This will involve liaising with Data Managers to facilitate filing of essential documents into relevant investigator site files.
Organise meetings including feasibility and Site Initiation visits as appropriate and support collection of signatures on regulatory documents
