I am a Research/oncology dental hygienist have worked in research for over 8 years and have been involved with the setting up and the clinical deliverance on numerous research projects over the years, from toothbrush studies to Low Lever laser studies, have worked closely with lots of different research teams from Kings College London to researchers in Athens. I have a specialist interest with patients who have head and neck cancer. My base is in the dental clinic research facility in the dental hospital but also work in the Royal Victoria Infirmary Clinical Research Facility and the Freeman hospital site.

My career in dentistry started initially in 1990 working as a dental nurse/receptionist within a NHS/Private practice, becoming practice manager in 1995 and working there until 2005 when I then took a career break to raise my children. I returned to dentistry 2006 to start hygiene and therapy training at Newcastle Dental Hospital.
I gained my qualification as a hygienist/therapist in 2010 I have worked in various dental settings continually up to the present day.
